Pinelands' Enrichment Program
Guidelines
2011 - 2012

The guidelines listed below are to be adhered to while attending Enrichment Classes and/or special event or program at Pinelands Presbyterian Church. These guidelines are to be read and discussed with your child(ren), as failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in expulsion from the Enrichment classes.

1.   The committee reserves the right to refuse any application.

2.   The Enrichment Coordinator/Committee reserves the right to dismiss any child whose conduct becomes detrimental to the best interest of the other children.

3.   Parents must volunteer on a rotating basis to serve as the second adult in the class. Failure to participate on the scheduled date without making prior arrangements for a substitute will result in a written warning, stating that your family's participation in the Enrichment Program has been jeopardized. Be advised that a second occurrence will result in your family's dismissal from the program.

4.  Dropping off children is unacceptable. All parents must remain on campus or designate another adult who will be responsible for the supervision of their child/children while on church property. A responsible adult is one who remains on church grounds while supervising another parent's child/children. This responsibility includes sitting in classes previously volunteered for by the parent. Please make sure your child knows who is responsible for him/her that day.

5.   In case of an emergency or administration of medication(s) the parent or designated adult assumes full responsibility. Parents acknowledge responsibility for payment of any emergency.

6.   Parents must notify a committee member when their family plans to be out temporarily or permanently, so that we may contact families on a waiting list. Be advised that a child with two consecutive absences without prior notification will forfeit their space to someone on the waiting list.

7.   Students and scheduled volunteers are to arrive on time for class; tardiness disrupts the learning environment. A continued pattern of tardiness may result in the families' dismissal from the program.

8.   Enrichment is for the benefit of Enrichment families, please refrain from bringing additional children when their school is out of session.

9.   Adult visitors must be introduced to and approved by a committee member; this is solely for the safety of our children.

10.  We encourage and expect parents to inquire as to their child's progress/grades.   Please Note: High school students are to maintain a "C" average in each class.

11.  Personal valuables (favorite toys, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, skateshoes, bicycles, etc.) and potentially dangerous items (pocket knives, slingshots, etc.) must be left at home.

12.  Parents and students are to wear proper attire at all times.

Gentlemen: We ask that a belt be worn, if needed, so as to not reveal the elastic band of the underwear you are wearing. We ask that the images and text on t-shirts be in keeping with good taste.

Ladies: We ask that moms and girls wear modest attire. Soffes, short-shorts, and short skirts are not to be worn while on campus. No bare midriffs or spaghetti straps unless covered by an additional shirt or jacket that remains worn at all times. Please, no low cut shirts or tight fitting skirts, shorts, jeans or pants.

13.  All playing, socializing, games, or any physical activity is to be conducted in the designated areas.

14.  The courtyard is off limits; it disturbs those in class and the church office staff.

15.  During lunch period classrooms are off limits to students - as there is no parental supervision at this time.

16.  No food is allowed in the carpeted rooms at any time, for any reason, under any circumstances. You may eat lunch in the kitchen, Room 18 or picnic outside, making sure that all trash is properly disposed of.

17.  All vehicles must park in the designated areas.

18.  No pets allowed.

19.  Enrichment participants are to wear shoes at all times.

20.  Payment confirms your student's seat in class; in order to effectively serve your family and our teachers - class payments and supply fees are non-refundable.

21.  We are not responsible for loss or theft of personal property as our insurance only covers actual church property.
